Asahi has recently been recognised by non-profit organisation, CDP, as being among “the world’s most pioneering companies” leading on environmental transparency and performance.

That’s important to us as we understand that our business depends on the gifts of nature, we know that we can only brew our quality beers with the very best ingredients nature provides.

Our aim is to ‘contribute to a sustainable society through our business’; an action that is written into our Asahi Group Philosophy.

We have set a target of 30% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (compared with 2015) by 2030, with the aim of achieving absolute zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

But we know we can’t do this alone, we’ve been working with external organisations to ratify and record our goals and progress.

We’re delighted that this was recognised recently by CDP.

Asahi Group Holdings has been rated as an A-List company in 2019 for climate change and for water security.

CDP is a non-profit organisation with an aim to focus investors, companies and cities on taking action to build a sustainable economy by measuring and understanding their environmental impact.

CDP’s annual A List “names the world's most pioneering companies leading on environmental transparency and performance”. In 2019 they recognised around 200 corporates as the leaders acting to address environmental risks and build our future sustainable economy - one that works for both people and planet.

Radegast Raises Awareness of Water Scarcity in Nature with Beer Brewed from Humidity in the Air

Radegast (part of Plzeňský Prazdroj, an Asahi Europe & International subsidiary) was the first brewery in Central Europe to brew beer from water extracted from humidity in the air. The water was collected and treated thanks to a unique device developed by scientists from the Czech Technical University in Prague. The intention of this special project is to draw attention to the loss of water in nature, further the dialog, ambition and action for water conservation. The Radegast brewery has long been among the breweries with the lowest specific water consumption in the world and we are constantly looking for other ways to save this vital resource and return it to nature.
